Gaming News 08/20/26

Welcome to the first edition of gaming news where we discuss what’s brewing in the gaming world! In this edition we will be discussing Fortnite, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Starsand Island!

Fortnite

Fortnite officially launched their newest season, “Override” Chapter 7, Season 4, a chapter focused on gaming legends!

This season sees gaming icons including Sonic, Pac-man, Mega Man, and Sora join the battle! But let’s not forget our trusty companions, with Tails and Spyro also joining as sidekicks! Despite this, the season already seems to be stirring up controversy as the battle pass only includes one collab skin and 7 original skins despite being dedicated to gaming legends. See below!

That’s not all! Last season Fortnite added cute creatures named “sprites” for everyone to collect. While grindy and time-consuming, many players sunk their teeth in to collect all of them. Becoming a popular feature it could only be anticipated that sprites would make a return in the next season! So far we have seen sprites designed after Sonic, Tails, and Klombo.
